




Prek Toal Bird Sanctuary is located in the northwest corner of Tonlé Sap Lake, approximately 31 kilometers from Siem Reap, Cambodia.
Prek Toal Bird Sanctuary is one of the most significant breeding grounds for large waterbirds in Southeast Asia. The sanctuary is home to rare and endangered birds such as the Spot-billed Pelican, Painted Stork, Milky Stork, Greater Adjutant, Lesser Adjutant, Black-headed Ibis, and Grey-headed Fish Eagle. Visitors can enjoy guided birdwatching tours, photography, and community visits to local fishing villages.
Entrance Fee: $25 per person for a guided tour, which includes the boat ride to the sanctuary.
The sanctuary is open daily, with guided tours available from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
To reach Prek Toal, take a taxi or tuk-tuk from Siem Reap to Chong Khneas, followed by a scenic boat ride to the sanctuary. The entire trip typically takes 2-3 hours.
