We are pleased to share an updated announcement from The General Department of Immigration (GDI) on a significant upgrade to Cambodia's immigration process designed to enhance your travel experience! As of July 1st, 2025, the pilot test for the Cambodia v-Pass (Visitor Pass) system has officially begun.
What is Cambodia V-Pass?
Cambodia v-Pass is an innovative border checkpoint control system that replaces the traditional passport stamp and QR code sticker previously used upon entry into Cambodia.
How does it work?
Previously, foreign visitors would receive a physical passport stamp or QR code sticker after completing immigration. With v-Pass, once a visitor has successfully passed through immigration, their digital v-Pass will be received directly via the email address provided with their e-arrival card, or within their e-arrival application, or retrieve it at (https://arrival.gov.kh). No more physical stamps or QR code sticker needed! This makes the entry process more efficient and entirely digital
How to use upur v-Pass:
Entering the Country:
- Present your passport at immigration.
- The immigration officer will process your entry.
- Instead of receiving a physical stamp, you'll receive your v-Pass via email or through your e-arrival app.
- Keep this v-Pass accessible during your stay.
During Your Stay:
- You may be asked to show your v-Pass for verification.
- You can display it on your mobile device or print it out.
- Always respect the duration of stay indicated on your v-Pass.
Departing the Country:
- Present your passport at departure immigration.
- Your departure will be recorded in the system.
- No physical exit stamp is needed.
