
APSARA National Authority Announces Traffic Closure in Front of Angkor Wat Starting September 25
(Siem Reap): The APSARA National Authority has issued an official notification regarding the closure of traffic for cars, tricycles, and motorcycles in the area in front of Angkor Wat Temple.
According to the notification, this measure aims to protect, preserve, and promote the outstanding universal value of the Angkor site, while also ensuring safety, maintaining public order, and preventing traffic congestion in front of Angkor Wat. The details are as follows:
Closure of Access: The entry and exit of all cars, tricycles, and motorcycles in front of Angkor Wat Temple will be prohibited, except for bicycles and pedestrians (indicated in red on the map), starting from September 25, 2025 onwards.
New Detour Route: Drivers of cars, tricycles, and motorcycles may use the new detour road, which connects from the south side of Angkor Wat Temple to Preah Norodom Sihanmony Boulevard (indicated in blue on the map).
The APSARA National Authority respectfully informs ministries, national and international institutions, local authorities, departments, tourism associations, tour guide associations, tourist transport associations, tourism companies, both national and international visitors, as well as the general public, to kindly take note of this information and cooperate in its implementation.
