Pchum Ben Festival
Pchum Ben is a significant traditional Khmer festival celebrated in Cambodia to honor deceased ancestors. It usually takes place over 15 days in September or October, culminating on the 15th day, known as Pchum Ben Day. During this period, Cambodians visit pagodas to offer food, fruits, and other gifts to monks and their ancestors, believing it helps the spirits find peace. Families gather together to pay respects, perform rituals, and remember loved ones who have passed away. Pchum Ben is not only a spiritual observance but also an important occasion for family bonding and cultural preservation, reflecting Cambodia’s rich heritage.
